Steven Morton, DOOrthopedic Surgeon

Dr. Steven Morton is a distinguished osteopathic physician with a remarkable career in orthopedic surgery and medical leadership. He earned his medical degree from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his internship at Grandview Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. His residency was at Des Peres Hospital in St. Louis, followed by a fellowship in Trauma at the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada.
Dr. Morton has held several prestigious positions, including Past President of the Missouri State Orthopedic Association, Adams County Medical Society, St. Clair County Medical Society, and the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AOAO). He has also served as Committee Chair for the CME Committee, By-laws Committee, and Governmental Affairs Committee.
Currently, Dr. Morton is the Chief of the Operating Room at Highland and Breese, Illinois. He completed his MBA at Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville and became a Certified Physician Executive (CPE) with the American Association of Physician Leadership in 2019.
A dedicated mentor, Dr. Morton guides students, residents, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants. He is a board examiner for the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery (AOBOS) and reviews articles for the Journal of Osteopathic Medicine. He is also the current President of the Illinois Osteopathic Medical Society.
Outside of his professional achievements, Dr. Morton is an avid ultra-cyclist, having qualified for the Race Across America several times. He recently received the Don Siehl Lifetime Achievement Award, the highest honor given by the AOAO.
